TURN - The Utility Reform Network

Dear TURN Champion,

Thanks to your support, three key bills of the TURN Affordability Package were passed by the Legislature!

Tell Governor Newsom: Sign the TURN Affordability Package.
  1. AB 2847 (Addis) encourages the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to require full disclosure from utilities of ratepayer costs to repay financing capital investments for every year the expenditure remains active, not just the first few years.

  2. AB 3264 (Petrie-Norris) requires the CPUC and California Energy Commision (CEC) to study alternative financing for transmission and create affordability metrics that reflect total household spending on energy related costs.

  3. SB 1142 (Menjivar) directs the CPUC to consider and adopt additional protections to prevent utility customers from being disconnected from utility service or help them get reconnected.

Tell Governor Newsom: Veto Utility Scheme to Increase Bills.
  1. AB 3263 (Calderon) would increase long-term ratepayer costs by letting PG&E, and other utilities, use public financing for recurring wildfire tree trimming costs, instead of using public financing to reduce long-term ratepayer costs.

TAKE ACTION TODAY!

Together, we can take the first step to bringing down utility bills!

Thanks,

Mark Toney
